Chefs at Rosie Lea House, in Southampton Road, near Lymington, take locally-sourced food and give it a 'rustic garden' twist.

The menu goes down a storm with locals and visitors alike and business has now expanded to include weddings and celebrations.

Owner Rachel Rabbets told the Daily Echo: "We like to take a tradition and add our rustic garden twist. Dishes such as our classic Royal Tea are served in gardeners rugs and planting boxes.

"Our beautiful breakfast banquets are served sharing style and create a wonderfully social way to laze away a family and friends brunch.

"We believe in sourcing locally, using upcycled fixtures and fittings where possible and keeping our garden as close to nature as we can. We grow wild and edible flowers to decorate the food, we source our meat and veg as close to the restaurant as we can, but we also believe in keeping our prices affordable for all.

"Our customers say the service is warm and friendly, we pride ourselves on knowing our locals, welcoming them and newcomers as if they are coming home.

"Our venue is now flourishing as an events location with many weddings and celebrations booking up for this and next year. Day-to-day business as a tea room and restaurant is growing at a good pace as we become renowned for beautiful locally sourced food at a fair price."

The business began life in 2011 as a market stall in Southampton.

Rachel opened her first shop, in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst, in October of that year, winning various awards, including the Best Tea Room in Hampshire (Hampshire Life) less than a year later. 

She signed the lease on the current building, formerly The Hobbler, six weeks before lockdown.

Rosie Lea House officially opened, following a refurbishment and Covid delays, in July 2020.

Their first wedding, an intimate affair organised with just three days notice, took place just before the circuit breaker lockdown.

Rosie Lea House boasts everything from spectacular Sunday roasts to an ice cream parlour, often taken in the large heated marquee.

Visitors also love the celebration cakes and cocktails, as well as the Rosie Lea at Home bakery range.
