St Patrick's Day is now upon us, and if you are looking for a place to have a pint of Guinness or two to celebrate the occasion then Hampshire has a few options.
Falling on March 17 the day commemorates the patron saint of Ireland, but is also an opportunity for people to celebrate Irish culture in general.

Irish pubs to visit in Hampshire
Shenanigans, Southampton

Labelled as "Southampton's only authentic Irish bar" on the Visit Southampton website, Shenanigans appears to be the place to go on St Patrick's Day if you are in the city.
It's a venue that is also great for live music and sports coverage outside of the occasion.
On Tripadvisor, it has earnt a score of 4/5 from eight reviews.
One reviewer wrote: "Great atmosphere in this traditional Irish pub. Even on a busy Saturday night, no queue for drinks as plenty of very friendly staff.
"Brilliant live music Friday and Saturday nights. Loads of screens for extensive sports coverage. Good drinks selection at sensible prices. Would definitely recommend a visit."
Basingstoke Irish Centre

If you're in Basingstoke then heading to the Irish Centre for St Patrick's Day would be a great choice.
Tickets will be required to attend the celebrations from 7 pm on Friday, and there are only a few left so you'll have to be quick if you want to be there for that part of the evening.
You won't be able to get tickets on the door, and details of how to do so can be found on their Facebook page here.
However, the place is open for everyone from 12 pm to 5 pm, so if you have a bit of time then it'll be a good place to go.
Shenanigans, Southsea

Another pub called Shenanigans, this time located in Southsea, should be another safe option for St Patrick's Day celebrations.
On Friday it will be open from 9 am for breakfast, with traditional music being played from 1 pm and it will have a separate shot bar open selling baby Guinness and other things from around 5 pm.
It is also well-received on Tripadvisor, having gained a 4.5/5 overall score from 242 ratings.
One reviewer wrote: "It was great to be able to sit at the bar and have a chat with the really friendly and welcoming manager on a drizzly Monday evening.
"Cracking pint of Guinness and nice surroundings."
O'Neills, Winchester
Address: 90-91 High Street, Winchester SO23 9AP
You're not exactly spoiled for choice in Winchester if you are looking for an Irish pub, but O'Neills should do the trick for you.
On its website, it says: "You’ll always find a warm welcome at O'Neill's Winchester.
"It’s a place where you can enjoy the craic whether you fancy a few rounds, a spot of lunch or a cosy meal. Where live music and sport lift your spirits. And where the banter flows as freely as the drinks."
The venue will also be hosting a party to celebrate the day, with plenty of live music to take in.
