IT'S the one of a kind gym which helps women over 30 transform their body and their outlook on life.

Mindset Body Transformations started as a free outdoor boot camp for friends during the Covid pandemic and has morphed into a community space which helps women achieve their fitness goals, and is set to launch classes for disabled children and women who have suffered abuse.

Carrie Bortier launched the fitness firm during the summer of 2020 while furloughed from her corporate sales job.

She said: "What began as a free outdoor bootcamp for friends and personal training clients quickly became something very special. The sessions were a lifeline for many of us who were struggling.

"After returning to work, my confidence was at an all-time low. That's when I realised I had to leave my high-paid sales job and try to make Mindset Bootcamp into a proper business.

"The idea really excited me. I would be doing a job I love every day and helping people overcome their mental health struggles through exercise. It was a scary leap, but I knew it was what I was meant to do.

"I've had the pleasure of working with so many amazing women who have transformed not just their bodies, but their entire outlook on life. It's been incredibly rewarding to see them gain confidence, overcome obstacles, and live their best lives."

In September 2021, the Mindset Body Transformation studio opened within the Pound For Pound Palace boxing gym and is now in the process of moving to a new base in Millbank Street in Northam with crowdfunding support.

Carrie added: "We believe that exercise should be accessible to every woman and that no one should feel like they don't belong in the gym. We have created a safe and inclusive space for women of all shapes, ethnicities, and sizes to come together and improve their physical and mental well-being.

"We plan to offer regular classes for children with disabilities in partnership with the Knights Foundation and are also looking to offer sessions specifically for Muslim women and free sessions for women who have suffered mental/physical abuse or are on a very low income."
