These pictures are bound to whisk any Sotonian straight back to the 1980s.
Each image shows Above Bar Street and the shops that once lined it.
From Cumberland Place to the Bargate, the busy street is very much the beating heart of the city.
Full of restaurants, bars, shops and more, Above Bar Street was, and continues to be, a hive of activity.
When these pictures were taken, the pedestrianised part of the street was relatively new.
A few cinemas lined the streets back then, but with the rise of large multiplexes, all have since vacated.
