AN AMBER wildfire alert has been issued for the New Forest as temperatures rise in parts of England.
The weekend alert was announced on social media by New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) today.
Forest visitors are urged to not use disposable barbecues and to avoid campfires in the area.
This comes as the Met Office forecast sunny weather for the Bank Holiday weekend, with highs of 22 degrees Celsius.
On Twitter, New Forest NPA posted: "The New Forest is on amber fire alert.
"This weekend, an amber wildfire alert has been issued for the New Forest.
"Another reminder that BBQs, camping stoves, and open flames are banned in the New Forest."

The New Forest Rangers also shared their concerns and said: "Please take great care.
