A Warsash nurse will be travelling to war-torn Ukraine to help injured and vulnerable civilians.
Dedicated medic Rebecca Porter will be volunteering with Global Care Force, a nonprofit organisation that provides primary medical care to civilians across Ukraine.
She will join other nurses and doctors to serve people in need.

The 37-year-old, who trained in the Royal Air Force as a nurse for six years, isn't fazed by danger as she plans to fly out next month.
Rebecca said: "I'll be flying from the UK to Krakow in Poland, from where I'll be taking a train to the north of Ukraine.
"We will be starting in the north and travelling south for 14 days.
"Every day we visit a new village and set up there to see patients, then pack up and move on.
"It's going to be very busy and stressful, but it is important to ensure that the people living in remote areas have access to primary health care during the war."

This is not the first time Rebecca has risked her life to travel to war zones to care for the needy.
In 2021, she was part of Operation Pitting in Afghanistan, where she completed nine manned flights out of Kabul and brought back 3,000 people to safety.
Looking back to when the Taliban took over the country, she described the scene as chaotic and something like the end of the world.
Rebecca was also part of Operation Rescript, where she worked alongside hundreds of extra military personnel to help tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.

As she prepares for another medical venture, Rebecca added: "I want to support the Ukrainian people, who remain resilient in the face of the Russian invasion.
"I have followed the news from the start of the war, and I am in awe of the strength, bravery, and solidarity of Ukrainians.
"I want to do my bit to help.
"I am an experienced nurse, and I know that I will be able to put my training and experience to good use."
Rebecca is also raising money for the Global Care Force charity to help pay for the medication and transport costs.
The charity is not charging any Ukrainian nationals to access the service, including medications.
