A man was stabbed in his torso last night in Lordswood - the fourth stabbing in Southampton and Eastleigh in the last seven days.

Police were called to Puffin Close at 11.35pm on June 14 by the ambulance service, who reported an assault.

A man in his 40s had suffered injuries to his head and a puncture wound to his torso, police said.

Fortunately, none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening.

Officers are carrying out inquiries about what happened and are appealing for anyone with witnesses to come forward.

It is the fourth stabbing in the local area this week.

On Monday a 17-year-old was rushed to hospital after suffering multiple puncture wounds.

He received several injuries to his neck, leg and back in the incident which happened at Parnell Road in Eastleigh.

Over the weekend a 35-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his chest at an address on Canute Road in Ocean Village.

A 37-year-old woman from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but has since been released on conditional bail until Monday, September 11.

Lastly, three people sustained stab wounds after an incident inside a house on Stafford Road on Friday.

A 50-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder was one of the three who had sustained injuries.

The other two, a man and a woman in their 20s, were in the house when the alleged attack happened.
