Long-time Arctic Monkeys fans Holly Yates and Emma Little were thrilled to see the band perform after many years.

Emma said: We have been waiting to see them for quite a long time. We've always wanted to see them.

"And now that we will finally see them play tonight, it is just brilliant.

"I listen to them all the time, and so when their concert tickets were finally released, I was on my phone the entire time trying to make sure I secured them.
"And I did!"

Holly laughed and added: "I literally just live around the corner from Ageas Bowl, so we're quite lucky that we didn't have to travel far like others. I literally walked here and didn't need to take the bus or the train.

"The last time I saw the band live was, I think, nine years ago. So it feels incredible to see them again after all these years."

Meanwhile, seeing the band in person was a dream come true for mum and daughter, Marie and Leah. Daily Echo: Marie and LeahMarie and Leah (Image: Newsquest)

Marie said: "The tickets were a birthday gift from my daughter. So I am really happy to see the band on stage tonight with her.

Leah pitched in: "Yes, we both really enjoy their music and are excited to see them tonight."

As the sun began to set, the Arctic Monkeys climbed the stage, welcomed by loud cheers and screams.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation, and the crowd buzzed with excitement as fans witnessed an evening of pure musical brilliance.

Alex Turner and his bandmates played new and old tracks like Mardy Bum, Arabella, 505, Do I Wanna Know, There'd Better Be A Mirrorball, and more.

With every word sung and every note played, they poured their heart and soul into their performance, leaving no doubt that they were born to be on that stage.Daily Echo:
