A TOTAL of 15 people in and around Southampton have been recognised in the King's first Birthday Honours list. 

Volunteers, police officers, firefighters, and medical professionals are among those who have made the list this year.

It includes people who have excelled in their field of work and people who have volunteered for charities or community groups. 

Those receiving an award are:

  • Georgina Alison May Masters from Horsham Assistant Director, HISP Multi-Academy Trust, Eastleigh. For services to Education. 
  • Dr Jenifer Ann Evelyn Smith from Romsey. Lately Deputy Medical Director, at Public Health England. For services to Sport during Covid-19.
  • Ingrid Marika Sarah Southworth from Winchester. Lately Director of International Affairs, Cabinet Office. For Public Service, particularly for services to British Foreign Policy. 
  • Karen Jane Farr from Eastleigh. Children and Young Persons Manager, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. For services to Young People and to Public Safety. 
  • Fiona Jane Hoban from Southampton. Assistant Remembrancer (Ceremonial), Guildhall, City of London. For services to the City of London and to the State Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
