A CYCLIST has suffered injuries after he was held at a knife point in Lymington. 

The victim had been cycling on Stanford Hill when a silver car pulled up alongside him at the junction with Highfield.

A man then got out of the car and attacked the victim several times. 

He also threatened him with a knife before getting back into the car and driving away.

The victim who is in his 20s was not seriously injured.

The incident took place on at around 7pm on Sunday, June 25.

Officers investigating this incident have arrested a 25-year-old man from Pennington on suspicion of common assault and possession of a bladed article. 

He has been released from police custody on conditional bail to allow for further enquiries to continue.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "As part of our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened.

"Were you driving along Stanford Hill at around 7pm on Sunday?

"Did you see the assault, or do you have dashcam footage that may have captured anything?"
