TWO burglars smashed the back door of a property in Park Gate before running off at the sound of the house alarm.
The male suspects were trying to access the key in the door to open it, say police, but ended up making off empty-handed.
They were seen running from the home in Lodge Road into Malcolm Close.
Officers investigating the break-in between 3.30pm and 5.45pm on Tuesday are appealing for witnesses.
