A MAN in his 20s has been robbed in Southampton by two people who stole his diamond tennis bracelet.

The incident occurred at around 4.15pm on Monday when the victim was approached by two unknown men on Highfield Avenue, close to the junction of Highfield Road.

The victim – a man in his 20s – reportedly had a number of high-value items stolen from him including a diamond tennis bracelet and a gold chain.

During an altercation, the man also received minor facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that the two men – one of whom was described as black and the other described as Asian –  then fled the scene in a black saloon-style vehicle in the direction of Porstwood High Street.

Following the incident, police are appealing to witnesses or to anyone who might have more information.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We have conducted initial enquiries but are now asking anyone with information to come forward – specifically dash cam footage – especially as the incident occurred on a busy road at a peak time for traffic.

“Did you see what happened? Perhaps you remember seeing a black saloon-style car driving erratically in the area?

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 44230277009.”
