A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital after a crash between a moped and a van.
The 18-year-old suffered serious injuries following the incident on St Mary's Road in Southampton yesterday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 3.45pm to a report of a collision involving a moped and a van.
The 18-year-old suffered serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.
Police have now launched an investigation into the incident.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 3.45pm on Tuesday 11 July to a report of a collision involving a moped and a van on St Mary’s Road in Southampton.
"An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening at the current time.
"An investigation into the circumstances of the collision are underway."
