EMERGENCY services and air ambulance were called to a busy motorway after a serious crash.
Officers closed M3 westbound between J4a Farnborough and J5 Hook following a multi-vehicle crash this morning.
National Highway Traffic Officers were also on the scene to assist with traffic management.
On Facebook, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary shared: "We’re currently dealing with a serious collision on the M3 between junctions 5 and 4A and have had to close the carriageway in both directions.
"Please avoid the area if you can.
"If you’re currently stuck in traffic, please be patient. We’ll get things moving again as soon as we possibly can."
Motorists were urged to avoid the area and were asked to plan ahead or allow extra journey time.
The closure has now been lifted, and all lanes are cleared.
The Daily Echo has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for more information.
