THE following speeding matters have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court.

KEIRA PAYNE, 29, of Fairfield Avenue Fareham pleaded guilty to exceeding a variable speed limit on the M27 between junctions eight and seven near Hedge End. She was clocked at 68mph whilst heading westbound when a 40mph speed limit was in place. She was disqualified for 14 days and fined £120. She must also pay court costs of £110 and a £48 surcharge. 

MIA SIDDIQUE, 25, of Mill Park Road, Bognor Regis admitted to exceeding a variable speed limit on the M27 westbound between junction eight and seven. She was clocked at 71mph at a time when a 60mph variable speed limit was in place. Siddique was given three penalty points and fined £70. She must also pay a £28 surcharge.

FAYAZ JOIAN, 33, of Archers Road, Southampton was found guilty of speeding on the A31 at Picket Post whilst driving a Toyota Prius. They had been driving at 80mph at the time, exceeding the 70mph limit in place on August 22, 2021. They were fined £220 and given three penalty points. Joian must also pay £620 court costs and a surcharge of £34.

MELVIN GAFFNEY, 63, of Heritage Way, Gosport admitted one count of exceeding a temporary 50mph speed restriction on a motorway. He was caught driving at 57mph on the M27 between junction four and five at Eastleigh. He was fined £220 and given three points. Gaffney was also ordered to pay court costs of £100 and a £34 surcharge.

WAYNE CHURCHILL, 52, of Heddle Road, Andover admitted to exceeding a variable speed limit on the M27 between junction ten and nine near Fareham. He was clocked at 58mph in a Ford whilst heading westbound. He was given a fine of £167 and three penalty points. He must also pay court costs of £110 and a £67 surcharge.
