A man remains in custody after a woman died in a cemetery in Stubbington.
The 66-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder after a 71-year-old woman was assaulted in Crofton Cemetery.
Despite being treated by police and paramedics, the victim died at the scene on Monday afternoon.
Officers launched a murder investigation and a cordon was put in place.
The man remains in custody at this time.
Fareham Borough Council has confirmed the cemetery has reopened to visitors after being closed all day on Tuesday.
