A man has made his first crown court appearance accused of murdering a woman in a cemetery.
Martin Suter, 66, appeared at Winchester Crown Court today in connection with the death of Ann Blackwood.
The 71-year-old mother was pronounced dead after police were called to reports of an assault in Crofton Cemetery in Stubbington.
Suter, of Portsmouth Road, Lee-on-the-Solent, was produced from custody.

He was originally due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court but the hearing was moved to Winchester.
He is yet to enter a plea.
The case has now been adjourned until September 22 for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Winchester Crown Court.
A trial date has been set for March 18, 2024, at Portsmouth Crown Court.
Ms Blackwood, also from Lee-on-the-Solent, was described by her family as a "loving, caring, kind-hearted mother and friend".

She received treatment from police and paramedics at the scene of the incident on Monday but was unable to be saved.
Suter has been remanded in custody at HMP Winchester.
He also appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court yesterday (July 27).
