A MAN has been jailed after a spree of shoplifting offences that saw more than £1,200 of stock stolen from Co-Op.

Andrew Thomson was jailed at Southampton Magistrates' Court after admitting to 12 counts of theft from a shop. 

The thefts, which took place between May 8 and June 12 this year at Co-Op on Millbrook Road West, saw £1,204.35 of items taken.

These included chocolates, tinned tuna, fresh meat, cheese, butter and fish. 

Thomson, 44, of Millbrook Road West, pleaded guilty to all the charges against him this month. 

He was jailed for a total of 16 weeks and ordered to pay £500 compensation.
