A FAN who was caught with a flare during Saints' opening day clash with Sheffield Wednesday has been fined.
Aiden Williams, of Cranbourne Park, Hedge End was caught at Hillsborough in an area where he could view the game on August 4.
The 22-year-old appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on August 18 and pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a flare at a sporting event.

Williams was fined £500 though no football banning order was put in place due to this being a one-off incident.
He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £200 surcharge.
This is to be paid in full by September 30.
Saints won the game 1-2 after goals from Adam Armstrong and Che Adams.
