They may not have been back-flipping their way down the street, but Diversity still managed to cause a stir in Southampton yesterday.

At Mayflower Theatre to launch this year's pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, members of the celebrated dance troupe stopped traffic on Commercial Road as they arrived en masse.

They will be among the largest company of any pantomime across the UK this Christmas and were joined by Christopher Biggins, who returns to one of his favoute theatres to play the Man in the Mirror.

Ashley Banjo, leader of Diversity since before they shot to fame as winners of the third series of Britain's Got Talent, beating Susan Boyle in the live final, told the Daily Echo: "We've done pantos before, we've even done Snow White, but every stage and every audience is completely different and we're so excited to be here because the space we have here gives us so many more options and I think it's going to be something pretty special.

What I love about panto is the beautiful alchemy of a collective of people who have never been together before and probably never will be again just having some fun at a special time of year.

We're pretty unique in panto terms and certainly bring something different. We have worked with quite a few of the cast before and we're really looking forward to getting stuck in and meeting members of the community.
