A pedestrian is fighting for his life after being hit by a bus in Southampton.
The man, aged in his 50s, has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, police say.
The crash was reported at 9am today on Bevois Valley Road, which has now been closed in both directions between Thomas Lewis Way and Onslow Road.
Officers remain at the scene at this time.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.59am this morning to reports of a collision on Bevois Valley Road involving a bus and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, a man, has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition. Officers remain at the scene at this time."
