A Southampton road will remain closed for some time after a pedestrian was hit by a bus earlier this morning.
Bevois Valley Road is closed in both directions between Thomas Lewis Way and Onslow Road following the crash at 9am.
A man in his 50s was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The bus in question appears to be a red, double-decker Bluestar bus which remains parked at the scene.

Police investigating the serious collision are appealing for witnesses.
They say "lots of people" were in the area at the time and would have seen what happened.
"If you were one of these people, or if you were driving in the area and have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
"We would also like to speak to anyone with properties or businesses along the road who may have caught the incident on CCTV."

The road closure has caused delays in the area with motorists reporting long tailbacks on Thomas Lewis Way.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the area as the road will remain closed for some time.
Officers remain at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police as soon as possible online or on 101 quoting 44230388465.
