Motorists are being warned of overnight closures set to take place on the M27 next week.

National Highways will be closing lanes between junctions 9 and 11 as part of site clearance works for the Welborne Garden Village project.

Diversions will be in place during the closures that will run between 9pm and 5.30am Monday to Friday.

On Monday (October 23) and Tuesday, there will be a full closure of the eastbound carriageway between junctions 9 and 10.

This is to allow for vegetation clearance on the motorway embankment.

However, access to the motorway via junction 10 will still be possible.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the westbound carriageway will be completely closed between junctions 11 and 9 as well as the off-slip at junction 10.

A full closure on the eastbound carriageway is also due to take place during this period for emergency works by SSE.

On Friday the westbound carriageway will be blocked again between junctions 11 and 9.
