Ben Shephard's fitness challenge will return to Fareham this year.

The Tipping Point presenter is bringing The FORTIS Championships to Fareham Leisure Centre.

The free competition challenges teams to sweat, squat, and lunge through a HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training - class like no other.

Winners will be named the ultimate FORTIS champions and meet Ben Shephard at the finals on November 25 at Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre.

Ryan Grant, general manager at Fareham Leisure Centre said: “We were delighted with how many people got involved in the FORTIS Championships last year.

“Going into it this year, we hope even more people from the area will join us and enjoy the inclusive, fun and accessible workout challenge as it’s a brilliant community to be a part of.”

The championships have been devised following the popularity of FORTIS, powered by Speedflex classes, which have been running at the leisure centre since 2021.

Fareham residents are encouraged to get involved in the accessible workout challenge in the bid to be crowned by Ben Shephard himself at the finals in November.

Speaking on the competition, Ben said: “Last year we ran the first ever FORTIS Championships and with incredible success, so we’re really excited it's going again for the second year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the classes.

“I look forward to seeing who steps forward to take on the FORTIS Championships and wish all challengers the best of luck.”

The contest will kick off on October 30, with special edition Challenge Classes taking place weekly at Fareham Leisure Centre.
