Panto star Christopher Biggins is to switch on Southampton's Christmas lights.
The actor and presenter, who is starring in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Mayflower Theatre this year, will be joined by Alex Lockhart, the 15-year-old playing Scrooge in Mayflower MAST Studios version of A Christmas Carol.
They are hoping to spread some Christmas cheer when GO! Southampton's Countdown to Christmas programme of events gets underway on Thursday November 16.

Christopher Biggins said: “I am very excited to be in Southampton for Christmas. This year I’ll be playing The Man in the Mirror and I can’t wait to show my sparkly and glitzy costume to Southampton audiences."
The festive extravaganza kicks off with three hours of entertainment starting from 4pm. Christmas characters will parade the streets, and local acts will serenade you with holiday tunes before the grand switch on.
The free four-day event includes live music, performances, activities and more until November 19, as well as the opening of the Christmas market.
