Motorists have been warned by police to make sure that their loads are secure after a canoe fell into the carriageway on the M27.
A photo shared by Hampshire Roads Policing Unit shows the orange canoe lying on the inside lane of the motorway.
The news was shared this morning at around 10.30 and the item is believed to have been cleared by officers.
In the tweet, a spokesperson said: "We appreciate it's wet out there today, but that's no excuse for taking your canoe on the motorway #M27.
"Please ensure all loads are correctly secured before you set off."
