People across the Southampton area have been getting ready for Halloween this year.

From spooky homes to terrifying masks, Daily Echo readers have shared their pictures of children’s costumes and house decorations.

Lucie Watts sent in a picture of four-year-old Ellis Horner in his Jack Skellington costume.

The 36-year-old mum said: “He loves Halloween and was so excited to wear his Jack Skellington costume.

“We do enjoy this and he has been very excited to go trick or treating.

“I decorated the inside of the house a few weeks ago but I have been putting out some decorations around the outside of the house.

“He is only four so for the last three years we have been trying to get him involved and dressed up and he loves it every single time.

“He is very excited for tonight.”

Meanwhile, Tony Toneri has decorated his house on Bellevue Road to a very spooky standard.

The 55-year-old grandad-of-11 normally only decorates for Christmas and football but this time he decided to go all out for Halloween.

He said: “I got some Bluetooth speakers, some witches and some skeletons and decorated the whole house.

“I also got a smoke machine to get the house looking like a horror house.

“We will also get some people dressed up to hand out sweets for the kiddies.

"I just wanted to make it a good spot for Halloween and for the kids to have fun while they’re out on about.”

Mike Spragg of Oakley Vale in Bursledon has also gone all out with haze machines and mood lighting for the spooky season.
