Extensive roadworks on a busy Southampton road come to an end tomorrow.
Winchester Road has been closed for three months – much to the disdain of motorists.
Ageing pipes in the sewer network were being repaired by Southern Water, who were on site from July 31.
The company confirmed workers hope to leave the area tomorrow, November 2 once equipment is removed.
A spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for the impact our work has had in the area on customers and businesses.”

The northern lane of Winchester Road between the junctions with Hill Lane and Dale Road will reopen as a result.
Speaking on the works in October, Southern Water said: “Around 50m of sewer in the road was blocked with concrete by a third party, making the repair complicated and lengthy as specialist drilling equipment was required.
“A temporary surface level pipe has been installed, supported by tankers, to ensure customers’ services are not impacted.”
