A popular leisure centre in the heart of Southampton is closed – and this is why.
St Mary’s Leisure Centre has temporarily shut due to an issue with the boilers.
This has resulted in a loss of hot water at the site.
The closure announcement was made on the leisure centre’s Facebook page this week.

A spokesperson said: “St Mary’s Leisure Centre is currently closed due to an issue with the boilers which has led to a loss of hot water on site.
“Southampton City Council is working to explore the options that are available so we can open the leisure centre as soon as possible.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this is causing.”
The centre, run by Active Nation, was under threat of closure but reopened in August 2022.
In July of this year, an invitation was sent out to leisure providers to take over the management of St Mary's Leisure Centre.
It was previously run by Solent University until the end of an agreement with the council.
