A group of men carrying poles and bricks were spotted entering the grounds of a Southampton school.
Police officers were called shortly before 7.30am on Friday to reports of a group of men running between people’s gardens and carrying suspected poles and bricks on Heysham Road, Shirley.
Police were told the men were seen entering the grounds of Foundry Lane Primary School and then spoke with staff.
Officers attended the area and the school to conduct a search and ensure the safety of the general public.
The school was opened by 8.10am.
Officers remained in the area today conducting enquiries into this incident.
