An incident at Millbrook railway station has prompted a large police response.
Three police cars and a police van were spotted outside the entrance on Mountbatten Way at around 5pm yesterday.
Several officers were also seen around the railway station.
Hampshire Police said the response to the incident was being led by British Transport Police (BTP), which is responsible for the railway network across the country.
A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Millbrook railway station just before 4.30pm on Saturday 4 November following concern for the welfare of a woman. She was taken to a place of safety."
