A driver has been fined after being clocked at 90mph on the M27 by an automatic speed camera. 

Simon Tesseyman, 44, was driving westbound between junctions eight and seven close to Hedge End when he was caught. 

The national 70mph speed limit was in place at the time.

The Audi driver, of Pittmore Road, Burton initially denied speeding but was found guilty at a trial at Southampton Magistrates' Court on October 27. 

He was fined £288 and received three points on his licence. 

Tesseyman must also pay court costs of £500 and a £115 surcharge. 

This has to be paid in full by November 24.
