There's plenty to do at Bucklers Hard and Beaulieu this winter.

It's the ideal time to spot some of the 125,000 wildfowl and wading birds which visit the Solent each winter.

The Beaulieu River, one of the few privately owned rivers in the world, is the gateway to an unspoilt haven and its unique habitats are home to more than 200 species of birdlife, including breeding pairs of ringed plover and oystercatchers.

The timeless Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol is being performed from December 14 - 24 only minutes away at Beaulieu. Set in the atmospheric ruins of Beaulieu Abbey, the outdoor production boasts a cast of West End actors.

Step back in time to a Victorian Christmas at Palace House, where pantomime rehearsals will take place in the Montagu Theatre for Jack and the Beanstalk.

Listen to carols next to warming log fires, marvel at one of the New Forest’s largest Christmas trees and look out for Father Christmas in a vehicle from the National Motor Museum.
