An Eastleigh magician will be starting the new year with a bang after winning a prestigious award.
Fresh off the back of his victory at the South Central UK Wedding Awards, where he was named the south's top wedding magician of 2023, Stephen Simmons will be kicking off 2024 by representing his home town at the National Wedding Awards in London.
The acclaimed magician said he is looking forward to representing the Southampton area at the national award ceremony in January.
It comes after Stephen was named wedding magician of the year in the south during a ceremony on November 14.
As a regular performer on TV and radio, as well as at weddings and corporate events, Stephen has been entertaining audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
He said he's “over the moon” with his latest achievement.
His blend of magic and comedy has made him one of the most sought-after performers in the UK.
He said: “As someone who loves bringing joy and wonder to weddings with my magic, this regional award means the world to me.
“I felt humbled to be recognised among so many talented wedding vendors and planners in the area.
“I've been perfecting my skills as a close-up magician and illusionist for over two decades now.
“My goal at every wedding is to create an unforgettable experience and unique memories for the couple and guests.
“This award tells me my personalised approach is appreciated.
“As a local magician based in Eastleigh, it was special to be highlighted for excellence in the South Central UK region specifically.”
Stephen said magic is not just about tricks, but also about the connection it creates between the performer and the audience, and the sense of wonder it evokes.

Stephen will be representing Southampton at the National Wedding Awards in London on January 24.
