Barton Peveril Sixth Form College has contributed hundreds of toys, gifts and more to Scratch Charity, bringing joy to children in need throughout Southampton this festive season.

The College has now donated over 1,850 gifts to the Southampton-based charity over the past four years.

Scratch (Southampton City Regions Action to Combat Hardship) is a registered charity founded in 1999 to relieve the effects of poverty for families and individuals.

Located in Southampton, the charity provides assistance to families and individuals across Hampshire.

Students and staff at the Hampshire-based college donated the toys as part of a wider effort to give to the region’s charities.

Vice Principal of Students and Progress Jan Frost said: “We are honoured to support Scratch again this year.

“The Barton Peveril community tries to take every opportunity to help local families celebrate the Christmas they deserve at a difficult time for many.”

She added: “We are really pleased to support this remarkable charity and the fantastic work they do.”
