Fareham MP Suella Braverman has fallen victim to a humiliating prank after she was tricked into accepting an infamous award.

The former Home Secretary who was removed from her role in November was fooled into accepting the "D**k of the Year" award on The Last Leg.

The Channel 4 comedy show, hosted by Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker has been presenting the mock award since 2013.

Ms Braverman was tricked into accepting it when she turned up to what she thought was a naming ceremony for a boat on the River Wallington.

Joined by YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners, the MP wished the made-up fishing firm, Fareham Fishing, good luck before the plaque was unveiled behind her.

After the prank the MP said: "I'm not sure what that is all about.

"It's been a big spoof. That's going to go viral now."

The episode containing the prank was aired at 10pm on Friday evening.

The mock award was given out after Last Leg organisers asked viewers to vote for the public figure they hate the most via X (formerly Twitter).

Russian president Vladimir Putin and former US president Donald Trump are among the previous recipients of the award.

A source close to the former foreign secretary later said the stunt “could have been a bit funnier.”

Braverman was sacked as Home Secretary after her position came under increasing scrutiny following an article she wrote in the Times where she criticised what she called "pro-Palestinian mobs".

In a letter to the Prime Minister after her departure from government, she accused him of falling "to rise to the challenge posed by the increasingly vicious antisemitism and extremism displayed on our streets".

She went on to label the PM's response to "the rising tide of racism, intimidation and terrorist glorification" as "uncertain, weak, and lacking in the qualities of leadership that this country needs".
