Police are trying to track down thieves who stole a tractor.

Hampshire Police Country Watch found the blue farming vehicle with a red plough attached, between Totton and Romsey.

Officers from the team initially launched an appeal to find its owner.

In a post shared on the Hampshire Police Rural account on X, formerly known as Twitter, officers said: "Country Watch are assisting in the investigation of a suspected stolen tractor - found between Totton & Romsey, do you know who this belongs to?

"Any information please contact police quoting 44230527635.

"Help us get it back to the owner!"

A few hours later, they were able to find the owner and reunite it with them.

On X, they said: "Big thank you for everyone's help in sharing our appeal via various avenues; we have located the owner of the tractor, confirmed it was indeed stolen & the investigation continues to identify the offenders."
