Shamblehust Barn at Hedge End is one of the Hungry Horse pubs nationwide hoping to support parents and families through the difficult time post Christmas when money is tight with a selection of bargain meals each day until Friday February 9.

Customers can choose from a range of dishes, including burgers, nachos, chicken tikka masala curry and macaroni cheese. There's also a candymania sundae option for the sweet-toothed.

They're available all day Monday to Friday, as well as the usual daily deals and offers like kids eat for £1 on Mondays and freebie Thursday. 

Lorraine Collier, from the pub chain, said: “We understand that this time of year is always challenging following the Christmas period. We believe it’s more important than ever for us to be able to support our customers and offer parents, families and individuals the opportunity to get the most for their money and feed their families for less.

“Our January offers do just that, providing a variety of options and helping to ease the monetary pressures that so many people are facing.”

The Old Shamblehurst Lane pub, which boasts beach huts and a heated outdoor seating area, also has an offer for pub goers participating in dry January. 

Anyone who can prove they have walked or ran 10,000 steps in a day will be given a free 330ml bottle of Heineken 0.0 or Coca Cola Zero Sugar.

Other Hungry Horse pubs also offering £5 meals and free non alcoholic drinks include The Fleming Arms in Swaythling, The Vine Inn at Ower, The New Clock Inn at Fair Oak and The Seagull in Fareham. 

Their sister chain Farmhouse Inns, both owned by Greene King, is offering two meals for £15 on selected mains from Monday to Thursday, including the weekday carvery, and fish and chips. Customers can also take advantage of a discount code giving 20 per cent off any click and collect takeaway order until February 1.
