A woman was left shaken after a stranger wearing a hi-vis jacket walked into her house and asked her if she could stay.

The Weston resident was sat in her front room when a woman with red hair walked in unannounced and “asked to sit down”.

The individual has since been identified by police after other residents reported a woman turning up at their homes uninvited.

Publicly warning others through the SO19 Community Group on Facebook, the resident said the woman "walked straight in to my house, and into my front room and asked to sit down".

She said the incident left her scared and urged people to keep their doors locked "as I will be from now on".
