Kanes Hill Primary School in Thornhill will be shut on Monday due to a gas leak.
The school alerted parents that emergency services were on site and had switched off the gas supply today.
The school will be closed on Monday, January 15, as the emergency teams work to fix the gas leak and secure the site.
The school has stated that it plans to be back open on Tuesday, January 16.
The school is set to re-open on Tuesday (Image: NQ)Via a Facebook post, a spokesperson for Kanes Hill Primary said: “We regret to inform you that due to a gas leak, Kanes Hill will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 15.
“Emergency gas services are on site and have switched the gas supply off. Until the leak is fixed, we will not have hot water or heating.
“We are hoping to reopen on Tuesday, January 16, however the health & safety of children and staff will always be our priority.
“Please see your emails for more information.”
The school will be updating parents through its social media channels and via email.
