Ferry passengers travelling between Southampton and the Isle of Wight have been warned to expect disruption in the next few days as Storm Isha batters the UK.

Red Funnel, which operates sailings across the Solent, says it's "highly likely" its Red Jet passenger service will be hit by delays and cancellations due to the impact of the storm.

Disruption is expected from 10pm tonight all the way to Tuesday evening.

Gusts of up to 60mph are forecast in Southampton tomorrow and into Monday as a bout of wet and windy weather replaces the recent cold snap.

The area will be covered by a yellow weather warning for wind issued for the whole of the UK, which will come into force at 12pm tomorrow.

The alert will remain in place on Monday when a more severe amber warning for wind will also cover the south coast, stretching as far west as Chichester.
