An award-winning Southampton restaurant has scooped yet another nomination in the 2024 British Kebab Awards.

Uni Kebab on Burgess Road, Swaythling, has been nominated in the ‘Customer Satisfaction’ category, having already scooped two accolades – best chef and best regional restaurant – at the 2023 TURTA/Turkish Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.

Uni Kebab is a family run eatery headed by chefs Aziz and Emma Gezer, with son Isaak taking care of the business side of the restaurant.

Commenting on Uni Kebab receiving a nomination for a national award, Isaak told the Echo: “Being nominated for a national award is truly an honour and a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team at Uni Kebab.

“It fills me with pride to receive such recognition for our commitment to delivering exceptional service and authentic Turkish cuisine.”

Uni Kebab is no stranger to receiving British Kebab Award, having won honours at the awards show in 2018, 2019, and 2022.

Uni Kebab began life 12 years ago as a takeaway on Burgess Road, before relocating just a few metres down the street three years ago, reopening as restaurant.

On what winning the best customer satisfaction award would mean to the business, Isaak said: “Winning the customer satisfaction award would be a tremendous affirmation of our commitment to excellence.

“It would validate our ongoing efforts to deliver an unparalleled dining experience to our customers.

“Every award we receive is special to us, but this one, focused on customer satisfaction, holds a special place in our hearts.”

He added: “Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do at Uni Kebab.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London on February 27.
