The Met Office has issued a forecast addressing the possibility of snow in Southampton next month.

This comes as cold temperatures persist across the UK, with the likelihood of snow increasingly probable.

Speaking on the possibility of snow affecting Southampton in February, a spokesperson for the Met Office said: “There is no snow in the forecast for Southampton. There may be some snow over the hills of Scotland later this week, as you’d expect in the middle of winter.

The Met Office added: “In the long-range outlook there is reference to the possibility of a more northerly influence to the UK’s weather by the middle of February which would increase the chances of some colder spells or wintry conditions, however as this will be from the north the chances of snow in Southampton would be limited if this solution were to come into fruition.”
