Motorists are being told to plan their journeys as roadworks begin on Hinkler Road and Bitterne Road East today.
Southampton City Council's highways team has warned motorists of closures as work starts on Hinkler Road between the junctions with Warburton Road and Ellwood Avenue.
Works will last for five weeks with closures between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

It comes as the second week of carriageway and drainage investigations are taking place on Bitterne Road East from tonight between 8pm and 6am.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place between Bath Road and Somerset Avenue.
