The demolition of a Fareham town centre car park is well underway with work progressing ahead of schedule.

The Osborn Road multi-storey was closed in January and is now being torn down to make way for a new surface level car park for the Fareham Live venue, a £13 million community, arts and entertainment space due to open later this year.

The new Fareham Live car park will feature larger car parking spaces as well as charging points for electric vehicles and plants.

Cllr Seán Woodward, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said: “Work is progressing ahead of schedule. The new planned surface car park will not only be much more attractive but will be more environmentally friendly with its EV charging points and tree and shrub planting.

"I am very much looking forward to seeing the outdated Osborn Road car park gone and this new, more modern alternative in place to serve the town centre and the exciting new Fareham Live.”

Alternative parking can be found at Fareham Shopping Centre.
