An inquest has opened into the death of a Southampton man after he fell alone.
Malcolm Hoskins, 73, of Shirley Avenue, was discovered on the floor of his home near his armchair by a friend. He was unconscious.
Mr Hoskins was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where he died on January 23.

The inquest into his death was opened by area coroner Jason Pegg on Monday.
The initial cause of death has been given as pneumonia, along with a fall with a long lie.
The coroner said that it is estimated that Mr Hoskins had been lying on the floor for eight hours before he was discovered.
Mr Pegg adjourned the inquest at Winchester Coroners' Court to take place on January 28 next year.
