A young boy has suffered serious injuries after a crash on a Southampton road.

Officers were called to a collision between two cars on Woodmill Lane at around 6.50am on Friday.

This involved a grey Volkswagen Golf and a red Mazda 3.

A four-year-old boy from Southampton, who was a passenger in the Mazda, suffered a potentially life-changing injury and is being treated in hospital.

The driver of the Mazda, a 35-year-old man from Southampton, suffered minor injuries.

A 31-year-old man from Trowbridge – who was driving the Golf, suffered a serious injury.

Following an initial investigation, officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.

A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “We would particularly like to speak to anyone with relevant dash cam footage of the incident or the moments just before the collision occurred.
