A man suspected of having a weapon has been arrested after a vehicle was stolen in Hedge End.
The arrest happened in Kings Copse Avenue shortly after 1am on Thursday morning.
The 23-year-old man from Swanmore was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and theft of a motor vehicle.
He was also detained on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He was still in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
