A Southampton man has been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted in the city centre in the early hours of the morning.
At some point between 2am and 4am on Saturday, March 30, a 36-year-old woman was on Oxford Street when she was approached by a man, police said.
After talking to her, it is alleged he started to follow her around the area and sexually assaulted her over her clothes.
Officers have arrested a 34-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of sexual assault and he is currently in police custody.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward and help with their enquiries.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Were you out during the early hours of this morning? Did you see this man and woman in the area of Oxford Street or Terminus Terrace?
