Quick-thinking lorry drivers helped rescue two dogs running loose on the M27.
The German Shepherds were seen racing along a stretch of the Hampshire motorway last night.
Taking on the unexpected challenge, officers from the Hampshire Roads Policing Unit (RPU) put their dog handler skills to the test.
Both dogs were rescued unharmed thanks to vigilant HGV drivers who spotted the danger and blocked the busy carriageway.
Their swift action meant officers could safely rescue the dogs.
In a post online, officers said; “Nights RPU officers put their dog handler skills to the test this evening, rescuing two German Shepherds that had been reported running across the M27.
“Big thanks to the HGV drivers who blocked the road, resulting in both dogs being rescued unharmed.”
